The Automotive Technology program provides a thorough understanding of automotive fundamentals and the skills needed to inspect, diagnose, repair, and make adjustments in today's highly sophisticated vehicles. Emphasis will be placed on brakes, suspensions, steering, engine performance, electrical, and electronic systems. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to use technologically advanced tools, electronic service equipment, and computerized databases as references for technical data. This program is certified by NATEF/ASE (National Automotive Teachers Education Foundation and Automotive Service Excellence). Students have the opportunity to earn student certifications through ASE. Auto Technology is a two year program with third year by invitation only. It is available to 10th, 11th, or 12th grade students.
